    "abstract": "The purpose of this paper is to treat the subject of light sources in motion picture work from the physical point of view. A number of interesting and useful papers on light sources based on other considerations are contained in our Transactions, and an attempt will be made not to repeat data that has been covered in these previous papers. In this discussion the physical causes of light production rather than the sources of energy or types of apparatus will be used as a basis. There are a number of ways in which matter may be agitated so that it will produce light. The agitation or disturbance may be obtained by a variety of means; the flow of electric current, chemical action, such as combustion, etc. The different types of light production are principally as follows : fluorescence, phosphorescence, iuminescence, solid incandescence, and flame incandescence",
