    "abstract": "The basic design considerations for the configuration of a TV camera reseau for Surveyor systems to obtain scientific and engineering information include use of the reseau for the reduction of geometric distortion contained in the TV pictures reproduced on earth. For most of these pictures, the correction of distortion is not required; however, when the objectives are considered it becomes important to reduce the geometric distortion of selected data points of given scenes to a value that will permit calculation of an accuracy commensurate with other system errors. The magnitude and characteristics of the distortion due to the electronic scanning process must be accurately assessed before designing the reseau.",
