    "abstract": "The definition of equivalent density of a primary color of a multilayer color film is given and a direct-reading photoelectric equivalent densitometer is described. The method of operation of the instrument is explained and the basic features of the electronic circuit and the optical and mechanical layouts are given. The apparatus has made it possible to make direct measurements of the density of any one primary color of a color film without being affected by the presence, if any, of other primaries.",
