When NTSC interfered with HDS-NA and HDS-NA interfered with NTSC, interference protection ratios were measured and compared with the Regional Administrative Radio Conference (RARC) '83 protection ratios for NTSC in this environment. Measurements of basic received quality and the effects of noise on the HDS-NA signal were also performed. The methodology of the FCC Advisory Committee on Advanced Television Systems, described here, was employed for the subjective testing.
