    "abstract": "A screen is described having a gradational perforation pattern in each of the side areas between the central portion and the extreme sides of the screen. The central portion of the screen is uniformly perforated and the extreme side areas are of unperforated screen material. This perforation design tends to compensate for the uneven light intensity from modern carbon-arc lamps, resulting in a practically even light reflection from the surface of the screen. This paper describes a screen which has been designed to have a higher reflectance in the side portions of its surface than in the center, and reasons are presented why this screen is a practical solution to the uneven light distribution problem.",
